glosario

The Carpentries' open-source, multilingual glossary of data science terms, with R and Python libraries.

YAML → carpentries/glosario

I started glosario in 2020 as a Data Science Education intern at RStudio, working with The Carpentries. It is an open-source glossary of data science and computing terms, available online and as libraries in both R and Python.

Lesson authors add glossary keys to a lesson’s metadata to say what it teaches and what learners should already know. They can then use the libraries to insert consistent links to definitions in several human languages. It started with a handful of languages and the community has since grown it into more than a dozen.

We announced it on The Carpentries blog, co-written with François Michonneau, Zhian N. Kamvar, and Greg Wilson.
