Ian Flores Siaca

I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Posit PBC, working on the team-operator stack: a Kubernetes operator (Go) that deploys and manages Posit Connect, Workbench, and Package Manager in enterprise clusters, plus ptd for packaging and lifecycle and vip for verifying customer installations end-to-end.

I came to infrastructure through data science. I studied biology in Puerto Rico, worked on animal acoustics and disease mapping, and did a data science master's at UBC. Then I spent years making R and Python work in places where they usually struggle: government agencies, pharma, and locked-down enterprise networks. Lately I've also been building a small set of R packages for running LLM agents safely.
